Boat Syndication FAQs
-
We offer a subsidized and hassle-free boating experience for people who would like to own a boat without the headaches.
Each vessel is put into commercial survey so it can generate money for the vessel to help cover operations and maintenance costs.
-
Each boat is put into a separate company that has a set amount of shares. You, as the shareholder, own your share outright.
-
Every three years, the shareholders decide if they’d like to sell, upgrade, or continue with the vessel.
-
You can sell your share at any time with a 5% agent fee.
-
You are buying a share in a charter boat company, not a luxury vessel. This means that you will enjoy the tax benefits of investing in a business.
-
The member/hirer is responsible for any damage during the duration of their hire.
-
The shareholder is responsible for any damage they cause to the vessel.
-
Each vessel has insurance that will cover damage, and the shareholders and income of the boat will cover any excess.
-
You will receive between 36 and 48 days per year, depending on your vessel. Then your days are split quarterly.
-
You have unlimited standby days, if the boat is free from bookings and other shareholders, you may use it.
-
Through the Alfie & Co app, you can also arrange your days through our team. You are able to book your days out one month in advance, though you can request dates in the future as standby dates.
-
You can choose to give your day up in order to make money for the vessel or pass on earning the income.
-
NYE and other popular days are our high-income earning days. If the days haven’t been sold out, we can do a draw of any interested shareholders. Or, if you would definitely like to secure the date, you can purchase it at a discounted rate.
-
Cost will be dependent on location and the size of your vessel. But day trips generally cost anywhere from $500 and $1500. This is for fuel, staffing, catering, and cleaning in Sydney Harbour and Gold Coast.
